Strengthening Women’s Leadership and Representation
NeWMaP is committed to increasing the participation of women in decision-making processes at all levels of governance. Through mentorship and collaboration, we empower female leaders to take on influential roles in politics and public service. We advocate for inclusive policies that ensure women have equal opportunities to lead and shape national development. By uniting women across political parties, NeWMaP strengthens their collective voice in driving equitable governance.
Capacity-Building and Mentorship
NeWMaP invests in the professional growth of women leaders through targeted training, coaching, and peer support programs. We provide a platform for experienced and emerging leaders to exchange knowledge and build leadership skills. Our mentorship initiatives foster confidence, resilience, and strategic thinking among female ministers, MPs, and local leaders. By strengthening individual and institutional capacities, we enhance the impact of women in governance and public service.
Economic Empowerment for Women and Girls
NeWMaP supports initiatives that enhance the economic independence of women and girls, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds. We work with government and development partners to expand access to education, skills training, and income-generating opportunities. Our programs aim to break down economic barriers and promote sustainable livelihoods for women across Sierra Leone. By empowering women economically, we contribute to broader national development and poverty reduction efforts.
Combating Gender-Based Violence
NeWMaP actively campaigns to end gender-based violence by raising awareness and promoting legal and social protections for women and girls. We collaborate with law enforcement and civil society to strengthen responses to violence and support survivors. Through advocacy and community engagement, we challenge harmful norms and promote a culture of respect and safety. Our goal is to ensure that every woman and girl in Sierra Leone can live free from violence and fear.
