Trocaire, Irish Aid, CGG and MoGCA Facilitate Landmark Meeting for Female Leaders

Freetown, Sierra Leone – In a landmark event aimed at advancing gender equality and women’s leadership, the Campaign for Good Governance (CGG), in collaboration with the Ministry of Gender and Children’s Affairs (MoGCA), today facilitated the first-ever consultative meeting with Female Ministers and Deputy Ministers in Sierra Leone.

The meeting brought together some of the most influential women leaders in the country to discuss strategies for promoting gender equality, enhancing women’s participation in decision-making, and addressing critical policy issues affecting women and girls.

The session was designed to foster collaboration, peer support, and networking among female leaders across political lines. Participants engaged in meaningful dialogue on how to effectively champion women’s rights and empowerment through legislative and policy actions.

We are optimistic that this gathering will serve as a catalyst for stronger cooperation among female ministers and deputies, enabling them to collectively push forward key gender-related agendas in national development frameworks.

Special thanks go to:

The feminist Chief Minister for delivering a powerful keynote address
The Irish Ambassador , for reaffirming Ireland’s commitment to gender equality

The Minister of Gender and Children’s Affairs , for her unwavering support

This successful engagement marks the beginning of a renewed partnership between civil society and government in promoting women’s empowerment initiatives. CGG looks forward to deepening its collaboration with MoGCA to continue supporting efforts that advance gender equality and inclusive governance in Sierra Leone.
